Hello to everyone from Trefzgers Bakery. Back in 1861 German Born Simon Trefzger opened Trefzger’s Bakery in Peoria at 54 Fulton Street. In 1870 the bakery moved to the corner of Main and Monroe and 1953 moved again to its current location 3404 N. Prospect Road.
The bakery remained in the Trefzger family for, four generations until 1993 when it was sold to Jeff and Martha Huebner. We are proud to carry on the traditions of the Trefzger family along with long time employee Donna Draher-General Manager and our wonderful staff.
Today the bakery is known for its thumbprint cookies, Danish rolls, flat coffee cakes, orange chiffon cakes, decorated cakes and wedding cakes.
We also carry a variety of other cookies, breads, donuts, homemade chocolate candies, muffins, pies, cinnamon rolls, and dessert cakes.
When it comes to creating or building a special cake we have been compared many times to the “Ace of Cakes” The main difference is that we are right here in Peoria, Illinois.
